As a child, Shaul Ladany survived the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp by running away. Running became the driving force in his life. He was on the Israeli Olympic team as a racewalker at the 1972 Munich games. And he witnessed the hostage-taking by Palestinian terrorists. He survived because he managed to run away again. Shaul Ladany has been running his entire life, until today. Now 81 years old, he takes part every year in the International Four Days Marches Nijmegen in the Netherlands. DW reporter Axel Rowohlt accompanies him.
